FAQ
1. How do I register for Camp?
A registration card may be picked up from any of the
supporting churches, downloaded by clicking
here, or call Blue Grass Christian Camp. For a complete list of
supporting churches click here.
Fill out the form completely, be sure and have parent's signature, and
mail the form along with the deposit fee to the camp.
2. How much is the deposit?
The deposit is half of the complete registration.
The registration form will have the cost of each camping event.
3. Does the minister have to sign the registration form?
Minister's signature is not required by camp,
however some Churches may require the signature before they will help
pay for a week of camp. Please check with your Minister.
4. How do I know if my child is registered for a
week of camp?
Camp will send a confirmation letter 10 days before
a camping event.
5. Does a week of camp fill up?
Yes! Some weeks of camp are very popular and will
fill up quickly. We do notify campers that apply after a week has been
filled and give them the option to come another week.
6. Can a camper come to more than one
week of camp?
Yes, provided that the camp is not full. We do
caution parents not to do too many weeks. Camp does require a separate
registration form for each camping event.
7. Can I room with a friend?
Camp does not assign bunks or dorms. The camper may
pick out his/her own bunk and dorm. To room with a friend you must be
sure that the friend is pre-registered. During the check in time you may
request a slip of paper that allows you to sign your friend into the
same dorm.
8. When is check in time?
Each event has a different check in time, however
these times are in the registration booklet.
9. Can I leave camp early or for an event?
The camp feels that the best way for a camper to
experience the full benefits of camp is to not leave during the week.
However, we do understand that this is not always possible, if a camper
must leave early or for an event they must provide a note from the
parent and sign out at the camp office. Out-camp campers will sign a
contract that they will not leave during the camp week unless there is a
medical emergency or death in the family.

10. Can the campers have visitors?
Camp discourages visitors during the camp week
because it disrupts the week. If you do come to visit during the week we
ask that you sign in at the office and let the dean of the week know
that you are here. Camp also asks that all visitors leave before
campfire that evening.
11. Can a camper come with a different age group
other than the one they are in?
Camp will allow a camper to move down one grade, but
they can not move up a grade. The weeks of camp and curriculum being
taught are geared specifically for the grades listed.

The deans are chosen from the area ministers who
have worked at camp. The deans are not paid and are strictly volunteer.
15. How is the faculty chosen?
There are actually two groups working at camp during
each week. The camp staff is paid help that does the needed maintenance
at camp and help in the kitchen. Camp also hires a certified life guard
each summer. We do have three ladies that stay in the dorms and minister
to the campers through out the summer. All of these workers are screened
through the camp.
The camp faculty is totally volunteer and is secured by the dean for
each week of camp. The camp does ask that they fill out an application
that asks some very pointed questions about their back ground. We also
ask the dean to have some personal knowledge about each of his/her
faculty.

16. What about medicine and medical needs during
camp?
Each week of camp must have a first-aid person. The
state requires that the person be certified in CPR and First aid. The
dean is responsible to secure a first aid worker for each week. During
check in time all medicine must be checked in with the first aid
personnel. The medicine is then kept in the first aid station and
dispensed as needed. Camp does have the basic first aid supplies
including, band-aids, aspirin, and Tylenol.
If a camper becomes ill during the week we will call the parents to come
and get the camper.
